Manipulating Time...

Deja vu...or wishing for deja vu

Hoping for that second chance....hoping so hard that it happens...but deja vu yeilds the same outcome...

i've always been fascinated by the phenomenon of deja vu myself, and i have my own philosophy of what it might actually be, but i won't explain that here. i think your statement that deja vu always yields the same outcome is interesting. does it? or can you temporarily escape it by doing something completely absurd that you KNOW you didn't do the last time?

in one of your other posts you seem set on trying to create a piece that is genuinely scary. we know that monsters and goblins aren't scary after a certain age, so what is? something unknown? something like deja vu or the nature of reality? in the movie waking life, the main character is constantly realizing that he is dreaming. what if you were in a state of constant deja vu? unable to escape it. doomed to live your life as an observer because you always know what's going to happen next. you mentioned ending a video too soon to tell what happens. not sure if that could be really effective. maybe instead try to connect to the most common fears people have, those involving life and existence - what many say is the root of some religions - fearing that everything is meaningless.

waking up and being trapped somehow, even just within the dimension of time like you said. when you're late, you're late. there's no way out of it because time doesn't care about anyone. no amount of despair can allow you to manipulate it.

it's also scary that we have enough WMDs to destroy all life on earth a thousand times over...
